Belém from colonial times

Having a walk through the city center one can get in touch with the influence of the colonial architecture in here.

The Igreja de Nossa Senhora das Mercês.

Once a tram crossed the streets of Belém.

The fortress (Forte do Presépio),

the Igreja do Carmo (Carmo Church) and

and the amazing Catedral da Sé (The local Cathedral) ...

... with an impressive interior. The bows,

the altar,

the entrance,

and the small balconies along the whole interior.

Definitely impressive and worth visiting.
