To reach the Fortress Beach one has to drive almost two hours from the center of Salvador up north along the coast.
The beach used to be more attractive a few years ago but became very touristic and commercial as a could realize.
Even though is worth visiting to check the TAMAR project activities.
The TAMAR project concentrate his efforts on saving the sea tortoises and is distributed in many Brazilian beaches.
One pay 16R$ (approx. 5,60€) entrance fee and can get informed about their activities and visit the aquarium with different species of sea tortoises.
